David Drake, PhD is the founder and Director of the Center for Narrative Coaching & Design. He serves as a Thought Leader for the Institute of Coaching affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He has worked with over 70 organizations to design innovative change and development programs, including a number of health care institutions and organizations.

His mission is to create more human-centered organizations in which coaching becomes the way work is done. To support these initiatives, he has taught coaching skills to over 10,000 leaders, managers and professionals around the world.

He has taught narrative coaching skills to practitioners in 15 countries through his transformative programs in which east meets west. An online academy will launch in September to develop a global community of people using narrative coaching and design to address the issues of our time.

He started the field of narrative coaching and is the author of Narrative Coaching: Bringing Our New Stories to Life (CNC Press, 2015) and over 40 publications. His next books are an introduction to integrative development theory (think narrative coaching at scale) and as co-editor of a reference-level handbook on coaching.

David lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, with affiliates in Sydney and Amsterdam.
